Gillian just headed up to Cleveland after visiting yesterday. Very nice, all-in-all. Our plan to finish the porch was thwarted by low temperatures since you can't apply the paint when it's below 50°, so instead we painted the little breakfast room off the kitchen. The edges need a little touching up (turns out the edger tools we got are pretty close to one-use items), and I'm going to need to take care of the molding soon, but it looks great otherwise. The color is called "butternut," and it's very bright and sunny.

We also got a gallon of "dried hydrangea" for the kitchen and dining room, but it's already become clear we're going to need another gallon. I hadn't realized before how much less wall you can cover with semi-gloss than with flat or satin.

Today the temperature is supposed to reach the 60s, so I'm going to attempt to paint the porch floor over lunch.
