I've been informed (thanks, Victoria!) that a number of people are counting on this site for information about the happenings in Gambier.
For those of you following the McKnight trial, the jury deliberated less than an hour before recommending the death penalty yesterday. I am not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand, I am generally anti-death penalty. Also, Emily Murray's family has said they do not support the death penalty for this case. The quote from the Dispatch read, "We are convinced that Emily would regard it as a tragedy and an abomination if another human being were put to death in her name.''
On the other hand, Mr. McKnight has given every indication that he is not a candidate for rehabilitation.
The judge has said he'll rule within the next 10 days.
