Quite a few weeks we've had. June has been a blur.
It really kicked off with Memorial Day weekend and the FLOO reunion. A marvelous time was had by all. Some folks (like O'Bryan and Dan and Spode and Terrie and Dave and the Pope) I hadn't seen in ages. Others (Scott, Christopher, Carla, Liza, Victoria, Margaret, the Labuddes) I'd seen only sporadically, and not nearly as much as I would have liked. Several folks (Aaron, Jamie Gump, Clare, and Abigail Resnick) I'd never met. It was incredible - definitely something we should repeat, if only so that future class reunions have a chance to see the Procession of Saints. It was marvelous to see everyone - Christopher and Margaret, especially, I have not seen looking so happy in a very long time.
Shortly after that, I had to make a work trip out to DC, which was fine, if work-filled. As always, we didn't get to see nearly everyone, especially with the planning being done on somewhat short notice. Joe and I had a brief spell of "oh how I miss being near a city and able to take advantage of urban amenities and why did we ever want to leave." Then I tried to find parking in Bethesda and all that pretty much vanished.
Since then, my life has been taken up by work, piano lessons, cataloging of books, and dealing with contractors. The laundry room is finally in, and the bathroom sink working. The ductwork should be scheduled in the next few weeks, along with the air conditioning (which will be quite a treat, I can assure you). The past weekend was spent reclaiming a garden from the weeds, giving me my first-ever (and thankfully pretty mild) case of poison ivy.
And a week from today I turn 33. Yay me :-)
