After days and days of heat and mugginess - there has been no rain since our brief downpour on the 27th - today is glorious. I have every window in the house open, save one where the screen has fallen out, and I feel as though I can breathe for the first time in a week.
My birthday was lovely (33 does not feel significantly different from 32). Joe gave me a bicycle, and my mom and in-laws have me stocked with books for months to come. It sounds like Gillian had quite a nice birthday too, although as usual we have not sent each other our gifts yet. I swear we get later every year.
We celebrated Independence Day by going to the Gambier 4th of July Parade, and playing in the kazoo band. This was followed by a get-together with some of Joe's co-workers, and a marathon food-fest. Much fun.
