My, but it's been a long time. Let me explain...no, is too long. Let me sum up.
Since I last wrote, we located the mode of entrance for the bat, blocked it (all hail duct tape!), and hired a roofer to come block it more permanently. The culprit was missing flashing on the chimney. That'll be fixed end of this month. The mower arrived, and made it nearly all the way around the yard before running out of gas. Joe ripped out drywall and discovered untoward things in the insulation (an inspector comes tomorrow to assess). I pulled the nasty outdoor carpet off the porch and scraped off the old paint. We pulled out the old fright-wig carpeting upstairs, and some very nice men came and put new stuff in. They'll be back once the drywall issues are settled.
We discovered a mouse living in our home. He hasn't put in an appearance for a few days, though - I'm starting to worry, and the cats miss their chase-toy.
I turned 32 and started yoga. Gus turned 6 and started chasing things only he can see. The country turned 225, but nothing much changed on that front.
The rabbits in the front yard have been joined by a pair of groundhogs, and, most recently, by a family of deer. Six of them last night - it was really quite incredible.
I think that's about it. Sunday is our one-year anniversary, which is mind-boggling to me, and we plan to spend Saturday visiting with Dan and Sharon, who will be in Cleveland for the weekend.
Talk to y'all later!
